“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list”
Hope you enjoyed the first part of My Bali Journey, time for Pt 2…
Stop 6: Bali Friend Meet Up at Ubud
After some island hopping it was time to get back to Bali & explore the island. First up was Ubud! I really loved the green vegetation & serene atmosphere. It’s also the perfect spot to score some wonderful fashion & decoration items. The only negative point is that there is a lot of traffic. I was also very excited, because a good friend of mine from Antwerp was ending her 6-month travel in Bali. We explored Ubud & Canggu together; you can find all the places to visit below.
Personal Tip: If you’re getting back from the surrounding islands with a ferry Padangbai is a good arrival spot in Bali. It’s a one-hour drive to Ubud, traffic included. Concerning the taxis, try to get the best price with a driver & ask for their personal phone number so you can contact him throughout your trip.

Stop 7: Ocean Vibes At Canggu
‘Oh momma, I wanna go surfin’
Oh momma, I don’t care about nothing’
Perfect song to define the vibe in Canggu! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t really good so we decided to do some shopping & deliciously food tastings. This stop was actually the only one where I decided to visit a temple. Along with my Bali friend we went on a little motorcycle trip to Tanah Lot Temple.
Personal tip: Make sure to end one of your evenings for drinks at Old Man’s for the full surfer experience!
Stop 8: Go With The Flow At Uluwatu
Just before my last stop I chose to take a 1-day of full rest at Uluwatu.
I spotted this cute eco boutique hotel on Instagram called Sal Secret Spot. Perfect place to fully unwind. Also the staff was super kind! After arriving I decided to visit the surrounding area with a short stop at Padang Padang beach and end the evening at Single Fin drinking a Bintang & eating a pizza while watching the surfers & sunset.
Stop 9: Sunsets at Semninyak Are Proof That Endings Can Be Beautiful
Time for the last stop of my amazing Bali journey. I decided to end this trip at Seminyak, because it’s not far from the airport. It’s the perfect balance between beach & city life. In memory of this first solo trip I decided to get a wave tattoo at Artful Ink. That’s the wave life goes, amen to that!;-)
Personal tip: If you’re looking for a place to relax during the day I recommend Potato Head. You can rent a day bed for 500.000 RP (circa 30 euros). Note, it’s credit that you can spend on drinks & food. Make sure to go early (around 11 am) to secure your spot!
I hope you enjoyed reading My Bali Journey. Make sure to keep an eye on my YouTube channel for My Bali Journey Vlog!
If you’re planning a trip to Bali and you have some questions don’t mind putting them in comment.
For those who are considering planning their first solo trip I just want to say GO FOR IT! It’s for sure an experience that is worth living.
Thanks for reading! Bise, C.
